I'm not sure exactly how to do this but I want to turn this shirt I'm wearing in this picture:
For the most part I've worn a lot of my own clothes during my pregnancy so they are going to be a little stretched out now or I am just going to be so sick and tired of wearing them. I told Dan I am going to go on a serious shopping spree (which I won't mind doing at all) but maybe I'll be able to give a second life to some things I already have. Anyone have any experience doing this?

oooh cute! it looks like it would be pretty easy to do. what are the sleeves like on the shirt you have now? hopefully they are long or 3/4 like the 2nd picture. i would probably just buy extra blue fabric to do the ends of the sleeves and the little bow. then just cut off the turtle neck, hem all the unfinished edges and you're good to go! what kind of fabric is your shirt made out of though? if it's a knit (kinda stretchy) it might be harder to sew. oh and if it's a little stretched out you could always take it in a bit on the sides too. looks like a fun project!
was that picture taken at kneaders when we went out to breakfast after the wedding?
@ michele- my shirt is 3/4 sleeves so it should be pretty easy right? it is 100% cotton so no stretch in the fabric. although i certainly have stretched it out so i might need to take the sides in too.
@ashley- yup this is at kneaders before we all went to co for xmas!
oh yes 100% cotton is easy to sew and you won't even have to change the sleeves unless you want to add the blue part on the edges. it should be really easy. good luck!
you have inspired me. I am going to take a sewing class. i want to tailor my own clothes so they fit and are cute!
anne you should take a class- i did and really enjoyed it. it was just the basics so i have a lot more i need to learn!
