We might be crazy

So we've been saving up our pennies and also asked Santa(s) for money so we could get a new TV. Saturday was finally the big day after Dan researched, researched, and researched some more and we bought our TV. The thing that made this whole process tricky is that the condo we moved into has this "niche" built in above the fireplace for a TV. The cable and power hookups are there so the TV kind of has to go there. But Dan didn't like this because it limited us to a 40" although there were a few 42" ones that would fit. After getting some great ideas from his dad and a super handy-man friend, Dan decided he could get a bigger TV and would build his own mount. Here are the pictures documenting the four hour long process to get our 75 pound 50" TV up in our "niche" which may or may not be weighed down by two cinder blocks and a sand bag. I really am praying we don't wake up to find the TV in crumbles on the floor :/

Nice handy work, Dan! Very impressed with the fit of those angle-cuts! And Meg, as long as long screws were used, your TV ain't goin' anywhere.

I find it funny that 42 is too small. :)

Hi It's Dad
Very impressive, Dan! Way to go. The work looks great, well thought out, and sure solved a challenging problem. Now sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labors. When you get the hi-def cable and blu-ray it will be tough for Meg to pull you away.
Have fun and appreciate your hard work.
