Sometimes you just don't have a good morning

Last Friday while getting ready to go to a wedding after not having hot water or a towel to take a shower, I spilled liquid foundation down the front of my black skirt and belt. I frantically scrubbed with cold water and soap with no success. I tried to borrow a skirt or dress from someone else but no one brought extra clothes. I went back to my room to find that Dan was scrubbing the skirt clean with not mine but his electric toothbrush and it worked. He is such a stud. Because of my mini-disaster we were late to leave to drop off a friend and pick up a friend at the train station before arriving at the wedding at 8:30 am. In a frenzy I entered the train station address in our GPS and we were on our way. We dropped off the one friend and were on the phone with the other friend to tell him to come get in the car. The only problem was he couldn't find us and we couldn't find him. After way too minutes we realized I put the address for the restaurant we were going to the night before in the GPS and there happened to be a train station there. I felt like a complete idiot. We drove to the correct train station at 8:45, picked up our friend and tried to make it as quickly as possible to the wedding. Of course we were behind a garbage truck which stopped every block and took his merry old time. And then of course we were stopped behind school buses pulling out of a school after dropping off kids. At this point we were just laughing. We made it just minutes before the wedding began. I sat in my chair with the front of my skirt still soaking wet and tried not to breath too heavily from just running up the stairs. But I felt such happinness and peace looking at the faces of Anne's loved ones all there to support her on her special day. Then my morning didn't matter anymore and the day was beautiful!

Sound like the Meghan commedy hour. Thanks for sharing your story and I am glad you skirt was soggy but wearable. It looks pretty ( and so do you) in the pictures.

This is a truly great post. Isn't it amazing how the temple erases all the stress and difficulty of the day? Love it. Especially when that temple visit is to see a good friend get hitched :)
PS You're right. Dan is a stud. And I hope he bought a new toothbrush.

Oh man it's great to hear other people have things like this happen. And woot for Dan! And wow that is a WAY early wedding!
