Travelling Home for the Holidays

As previously mentioned, our original flight home was cancelled so we had to wait another day. This meant that we got to hang out with Grandma Jan for a day and do some last minute shopping. Dan was still happy because he got to wear his new Christmas sneaks.
We made it to Chicago with no problems and had just an hour wait for our next flight. However, the wait was freezing. I'm not exagerating when I say that you could see your breath inside the airport it was that cold! See Dan's breath?
We made it out of Chicago but with some delays of course. Our gate got changed and then we had to wait for the "pushers" who were in between shifts. Then it was announced that because we were behind schedule we would forego the de-icing of the plane....um...isn't that the important part considering it was -10 degrees. We were fine though and there was even some pretty frost on my window.
Landing in Connecticut was fun. This was the runway but you can't really see it under all the snow. We finally made it though after what felt like days of travel. And we had a fantastic time! There's no place like home for the holidays.

You guys had such a good attitude about what could have been a horribly miserable time. I can't believe after all that, Dan is travelling AGAIN this weekend! Grin...
