Happy Birthday Heidi!

This is Heidi and today is her birthday. She is my third oldest sister. She is so funny, beautiful, a great Boggle player, and has some adorable kids. My favorite things that her kids have said are:
(H)- Emmy it is not your birfday it is MeMe's birfday!
(K) after putting her to bed, asking her if she was happy, and her nodding- Is MeMe happy?
(D) hasn't exactly spoken to me yet but when he does it will be amazing! :)
Happy Birthday Heids and love you a ton!

Haircut Anxiety

This is my hair...it might even be a little longer now. I kind of am wanting a haircut but don't have a style in mind. Any suggestions?

New at Target

I love these lounge chairs at Target. In fact I could have used some today...I decided to rearrange our living room while home for my lunch break and wished that we had two lounge chairs instead of a loveseat. Our sofa and loveseat take up a lot of room and I wanted a new layout that would make our front room seem a little more open and spacious. I also just like to change things around every once in a while but Dan was pleasantly surprised when he got home so all is well in the Posner home.

Cooking Disaster

Usually on blogs we talk about accomplishments, trips, cool things we have going on....well not today. I bought some bread bowls earlier this week thinking soup served in bread bowls would be an easy yet still heartly meal. Well when I looked in the cupboard to get out the soup that I also bought I discovered that Dan already ate the soup. But that was ok....I'll just make homemade potato soup...I have a recipe from one of my sisters. I soon discovered that I didn't have parsley or onion....who needs parsley I thought and I'll just use onion powder. So I start making potato soup and Dan asks, "Isn't it supposed to be creamy?" Yes I thought in my head so I'll just add a little milk and flour. Ok long story short.....it wasn't good at all. After we ate though Dan ran next door to borrow a movie and as he walked back in he said, "Their apartment smelled so good from their dinner" and I responded with a frown. I provided an awful dinner tonight! HaHa What made it so funny though was that as I cleaned up and was putting the recipe card away I saw that there were more instructions on the back! Turns out I was supposed to add milk and flour (I was proud of myself for guessing on that) but also a lot of butter. Anyway...just wanted to share a part of our life that wasn't fun, cool, or exciting because sometimes...life just isn't.

Happy Birthday Sara!

We love you and hope you have a wonderful day!

Call for Chili Recipes

We are going to a Chili Cook-Off and I've never made chili before. What recipe would you recommend? Here is Martha Stewart's 30 Minute Chili Recipe.

The Nanerpus

We didn't take advantage of the free Denny's breakfast that day but Dan has decided that he likes to be "The Nanerpus" sometimes and it is really funny and kind of scary :)

A Break Called President's Day

I was so looking forward to the long weekend for many reasons. It was Dan's birthday, it was Valentine's Day, and yesterday was our 6 month anniversary! I was also really looking forward to getting out of Provo for a bit. We just went away on Sunday night to our friend Allie's grandparents cabin/house in Heber. We went with her and her husband John and another couple, Rachel and Stephen Moulton. It was so fun. First, the boys made a fire out in the snow so we could roast smores and Starbursts. I'm sure this made them feel very manly... afterwards we played games: Sequence, Ticket to Ride, and Pit. Then on Monday we had a huge yummy breakfast around noon and then went snowshoeing with the dogs Charlie and Deegan. We even had a little snowshoe race which was really funny...it is hard to run in snowshoes! It was so fun and such a nice break from normal life. Thank goodness for friends and holidays :)

Valentine's Day Card

We saw this commercial on TV for the last week or so and it made me laugh so hard. So when I get a card from Dan yesterday and this is what it was...you can imagine how hard I laughed :)

He is my most favorite thing in the whole wide world and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him today! I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world to get to share forever with him. He is such a happy, funny, positive, "go-getter" of a person. And....he is such a hunk!

Good Reads

My sister Stacey often gives books as gifts and about two years ago she gave me The Outside World by Tova Mirvis. She also just recommended another book written by her, The Ladies Auxiliary, which I am reading now. They are stories about Orthodox Jewish families and communities and I've really enjoyed reading them. Especially now that I've married into a family with a Jewish background. I love learning more about the culture, traditions, and holidays of this faith and recommend these books to my friends. Reading them from an LDS perspective has also made me reflect more on the culture an traditions of my faith as well.

NEW PHONE

So I was at work on Tuesday, and I went to close my phone when....CRACK.....it broke. (ooooo...Combination hooka and coffee maker! also makes julienne fries! Will not break, will not break... It broke!) (thanks Aladin) It turns out that the warranty on my phone expired two weeks ago. yeah. figures. So that gave me the opportunity to pick out a new phone!

The testosterone inside of me said....Dan...you need the cool blackberry. It says ...."You have arrived.....You can play on the internet when you're bored.....and.....I can watch baseball highlights on your phone!!!"

However, blackberry's as cool as they are...(the official phone of President Obama) ...are expensive...and not a necessity as my loving wife reminded me.

So my option was.....(as dictated by wifey)....to get a new phone that would be free. I obliged being that I didn't want to sleep on the couch....that's lonely.

So....welcome Dan's new phone!!!!!! The LG VX5500. The name itself brims with confidence and hoodspah (my own spelling of the word. i don't care how it's really spelled......that's PHONE-ETIC)(haha get it?) . Here's a picture.

It does the 4 things I need a phone to do.....1) work as a phone (shocking) 2) text 3) be my watch (the ones around your wrist are expensive) and 4...work as my alarm clock.

Tonight I was showing Meg my phone and I told her to dial 2. (I set it to be her preset button so when i hold down 2 it calls her. She did it and got excited that her name popped up. ....However she was then very offended and slightly hurt that she wasn't speed dial option 1.

I just laughed. :) I love her. she's cute.

***for those who need the explination.....speed dial 1 is preset on all phones to call voicemail. :)

Principle Gallery

Here are paintings by Geoffrey Johnson and Jeremy Moon on exhibit at Principle Gallery that I really like. (This is the same gallery in Old Town Alexandria that I blogged about before)

Happy Groundhog Day!

Today was Groundhog Hog and Phil The Groundhog says there will be six more weeks of winter. Last year I saw Phil The Groundhog myself in Punxsutawney, PA on what was one of the most random but fun-filled roadtrips I have ever been on. Thanks Matt, Amber, and Stephanie for such a great memory!
