We are making these tomorrow and I can't wait. When was the last time you had Muddy Buddies?

Happy New Year
I figured I could still do this while it is still January (for a little bit longer). We were going to send out Christmas cards but it didn't happen so then I thought we would send out New Years cards and that didn't really happen... but this was what we had in mind. (Although the picture is showing up here WAY lighter that it is supposed to, I don't know what happened and can't figure out how to fix it!) Anyway, Happy New Year and "let your light so shine" in 2009!

Happy Birthday Christian!
Ok so maybe it is a little weird that I am giving a 35th birthday shout out to Christian Bale but he has been a favorite actor for many years in Empire of the Sun, Newsies, Little Women, The Prestige, and of course Batman amongst some other random and not-so-good movies. Dan and I did try to watch Empire of the Sun recently because I saw it at the library and we couldn't finish it :) But it did have beautiful music! And Jack Kelly "Cowboy" in Newsies...actually now that I think about it I had a crush more on Spot Collins from Brooklyn. I thought The Prestige was a great movie and of course his portrayal of Bruce Wayne is fantastic. So Happy Birthday Christian!

Milk and Expiration Dates
Tonight I poured myself a glass of milk. I then got out the store brand chocolate syrup which isn't as good as Hersheys. As I squeezed the chocolate syrup into the glass of milk I noticed the expiration date on the gallon of milk...it expires tomorrow! The expiration date on milk, actually make that all dairy products, is a serious concern of mine. I have such a hard time eating or drinking anything that is close to expiring and forget it if it is the actual exprition date. There is no way I will use it. I realize this may be a little extreme and not everyone shares my feelings. Dan doesn't. But rather than wasting the milk I just continued to add chocolate so that just in case it started to go a little bad....all I would taste is chocolate! Watch this clip of Jerry Seinfeld in one of his stand up shows talk about milk. (It is only the first 3 minutes) Enjoy!

Something to Read
My little sister got us a subscription to Dwell for Christmas and I sort of forgot about it until it arrived yesterday and it was a lovely surprise. I've enjoyed this magazine for several years now.
Arts and Crafts Hour with the Posners
So almost 2 months ago Meg and I bought 3 canvases to paint on and make art for our bedroom. I've been feeling lousy for about a week now and have watched more movies than I care to admit and thus Meg has been irritated with the amount of TV being watched. In my defense... when you're sick you don't want to do anything other than sleep and watch TV.....and in her defense .....it has been a LOT of TV.
OK....so we decide to take out the arts and crafts bin and paint our canvases. With some of Erin's paint (thank you Erin) and some $2 plastic painting knives we attempted to bring out our artistic and creative genius.
What you see below are some of the most euphoric an eye-popping images to ever begin their tender acrylic lives upon canvas. Beautiful....yes.....they are beautiful.
So if you would like your own work of art created in the Posner Studio...send your color preference along with a theme, size, and Shipping and Handling to us here at 325 E 500 N #2 Provo UT 84606.
Ha ha all joking aside..we had a lot of fun doing it, and we're happy that they turned out better than expected for our first time touching paint in a combined 35 years.

Snuggies
I'm sure you all have seen infomercial by now for Snuggies. We saw it several months ago and laughed at how funny looking they were but then found ourselves saying at times, "You know, I could really use a Snuggie right now." On Christmas morning much to my surprise, I opened one of Dan's gifts to me and found not only one but two bright blue Snuggies for our enjoyment! I laughed so hard and was so surprised! This is us on Christmas morning, Dan wearing his on the plane, and wearing it while playing football at Grandma Jan's. On the plan the Snuggie drew a lot of attention because we were one of the first to board. One guy as he passed us said, "Oh yeah, the Snuggie!" And a little girl sitting across from us put her jacket on backwards and said, "Look mom, I have a Snuggie too!" We like to think we are spreading the Snuggie love...shouldn't we get paid for this :)

Happy Birthday Ben!
Congrats to the Newlyweds
We attended several weddings of loved ones over the last two weeks. So Congratulations to Marlayne and Travis Nye, Ben and LaCol Kjar, and Kim an Ed Wilcox! We love you all!
School Project...Sort Of
Last weekend Dan was back in Connecticut for his little sister Kim's wedding. I missed him terribly but my little sister Erin was kind enough to come stay with me so I wouln't be alone. She is a graphic design major and had a project she had to work on which involved taking pictures of different types of typography. So I played along...here are my pictures from our photo fieldtrip:

My Little Drummer Boy
I found some pictures of Dan and his friends rocking out on our/his camera and I love this picture of him. He is really very musically talented. He can hear a song and then play it on the drums or guitar. So I'm just taking this opportunity to brag about him a little bit. He is pretty awesome.
Stemless Wine Glasses
So I don't drink wine but please could I drink my orange juice every morning out of one of these glasses. That would be a nice start to my day, I think they are pretty. Check them out at a new favorite: CB2.
Home in Utah?
After all our travels I have to admit that it was nice landing back in Salt Lake. Usually I would get that pit-in-my-stomach feeling as the plane began its decent; but for the first time it felt like being back in Utah was being home. Never thought I would say that... but at least now what I consider home has "The greatest snow on Earth". Time to hit the slopes!

Home For The Holidays
We started our holiday vacation in Connecticut where we celebrated Chanukah one night, went ice skating, had dinner with the Jensens on Christmas Eve, and went to Manhattan. We loved spending time and laughing a ton with Dan's family. It was especially fun as well to play with our adorable neice and nephews there who are all so funny and smart for how young they are.

After our day in Manhattan with Dan's family, we took the train to New Jersey (which was possibly the most stressful and aggressive "boarding" experience I have ever witnessed) where my brother kindly picked us up and drove us to my family's house in Delaware. We to spend four days there just hanging out. We did make these fun snoman cupcakes. We also ate a lot of mint brownies and played lots of Ticket to Ride- one of Dan's Christmas presents. I wish I took more pictures in Delaware but this is the only way I took.

Travelling Home for the Holidays
We made it out of Chicago but with some delays of course. Our gate got changed and then we had to wait for the "pushers" who were in between shifts. Then it was announced that because we were behind schedule we would forego the de-icing of the plane....um...isn't that the important part considering it was -10 degrees. We were fine though and there was even some pretty frost on my window.
Landing in Connecticut was fun. This was the runway but you can't really see it under all the snow. We finally made it though after what felt like days of travel. And we had a fantastic time! There's no place like home for the holidays.
