Happy Halloween

Twas the night of halloween when all through the house
not a creature was stirring not even my spouse,
Dinner was bad, the soup there was a lump-in,
When a knock at the door... A GIANT ONE EYED PUMPKIN!
We ran, quite scared of the abnormaly large veggie,
And running so fast gave Dan a big wedgie.
"We can't run from our house we might end up dead,
And I won't rest this tush, except on my bed!"
Meg shouted as we mustered courage anew,
And that's when we knew just what to do.
With our hands above heads, each clutching a key,
We screamed to attack the pumpkin you see,
But he smiled a big smile, a big look of glee,
And he shouted, "HAPPY HALLOWEEN....I'M MIKE WAZOWSKI!"

Happy Halloween from Dan and Meg!... (and Mike Wazowski from Monster's Inc.)

Tidying Up The Nursery*

See the nicely stacked books on my nightstand....this is the work of my really cute husband Dan. Now that I am a working lady I don't have as much time on my hands to tidy up and make dinner, etc. (which in an opera when the close captioning says "etc" it means they are going to sing for a while longer and not tell you what it is they are saying). Earlier last week when I was on my way home Dan requested that I pick up Burger King for dinner and offered to clean up before I got home. I was delightfully surprised at what a thorough job he did...hence the stacked books. I don't even do that! (*whoever can tell me first what movie this is referencing gets a really cool awesome prize)

Midnight thoughts....

Hello All....
This is Dan. Meg is asleep, and i'm taking the initiave to make my first blog by myself. Talk about autonomy!

So we went to our first opera last night. It was amazing. It was Don Giovanni. It cracks me up that this story is about a philanderous, conquesting womanizer who murders, rapes, and seduces innocent girls...ok...thats not the funny part. The funny part is that it was put on by BYU.....hmm......maybe BYU didn't know what it was about becuase it was in Italian. Anyways....so my friend that i home teach was Don Giovanni, and his wife was Zernelli....another lead role, so it was great to see them there.

Ok...so i set up a little work out routine for myself....I have to run 10 miles, bike 20, and have three muscle workouts in a week. If i do those three things i get to reward myself with a decident treat of all you can eat sushi! (i know that all you can eat sushi is kind of against the idea of working out so much....but it's my body....my decision)

So then i asked Meg and said, "Hey babe....my treat is sushi, and is just under $20. What treat would you like for yourself that's under $20 if you accomplish your work out routine? " She replied, "How about $30 towards clothes?" To which i rolled my eyes, and although i know she's brilliant....i wondered how she came up with $30!! We both just laughed.

By the way....there are strong chances that we'll be living in....... Chicago in about a year!! That's one of the places where I can do my internship......so family......move there so we can have somebody to babysit for us. (no announcements yet.....just constructive planning.) Also, this means that i can learn how to tap dance and sing with girls named Roxy, Velma, and Matron Mama Morton.

A Pace of Life Pick-Up

Hi this is Meg and Dan tonight...Dan's thoughts will be italicized. Hi. I am now working! YES! This is good for Meg socially, emotionally, physically, ecumenically, and even gramatically. Thank you Jack Sparrow. So today was my first day and I had so much support from friends wanting to pack me a lunch and pick out my "first day" outfit. Unfortunately my Fab 5 friends aren't too close but fortunately...I have a fantastic hubby who met me for lunch at home and approved my "first day" outfit and told me I looked great. She did. But the most exciting part of our new schedule is that we are working out every night now (starting tonight) that I have a gym membership again. The worst part of our new schedule is that I can't start making dinner at 3. Crap. The crockpot might become my new best friend so please send any good recipes you have. Yes please. And also send any good coupons you find for either milk, cereal, deoderant, or sushi. Meg feels that i haven't done my part as senior editor of this fine circulation so i'm going to step it up in posts to come and sprinkle the blog with euphamisms, euphoria, and euthanasia and any other good "e" words I can think of in the near future. I'm sure you all can't wait for that. On that note, I think we will say goodnight. Au vua....that's French for good-bye, and with my new French uncle I now am overflowing with wonderful French knowledge, vocabulary, and even a flor-de-lis on my new t-shirt. So....goodnight....and have your cake and eat it as well.....deliciously. Ok that is enough from Dan. Please keep reading our blog. wi wi si vu play.

Pre-Dinner Walk

It may have been snowing over the weekend but today was a beautiful fall day. While dinner was cooking Dan and I went for a walk around our block and took our cameras with us to capture the season. I really love fall. I also bought a Pumpkin Clove scented candle today and that added to the fall ambiance of the day. Here are the best pictures from our walk.

Time to Celebrate

We got great news last week. Dan has been accepted in the BYU Advertising Program and I got a job as an assistant property manager at one of the big apartment complexes here in Provo. To celebrate we went to Dan's favorite restaurant to eat sushi- Susha Ya. I now have one week left of being a "stay at home wife" and am trying to do all I can to make the best of it.

Family Weekend

Dan met a lot of new family this weekend. I had a cousin on my mom's side of the family get married on Friday night and then family on my dad's side get together for our church General Conference over the weekend in Salt Lake. Saturday night we went to the BYU vs. Utah Girls Soccer game with the Darrows and Erin...we love Erin...

and the Darrows...it was so fun to spend the weekend with them! We went to the game to watch Mike's cousin play.

Heather, Robyn, Paige, Erin and I went to the church conference on Sunday morning at Temple Square and were so happy that the sun came out while we were inside. It was pouring rain all weekend up until that point. The boys (Mike, Dan, Noah, and Logan) stayed home with Grandma Jan to keep her company and out of trouble.

I am trying to win "favorite aunt" status with Logan by feeding him chocolate pudding before dinner. He's just so cute!
